In 1983 fourteen young men from different parts of the country, came together at one defining moment in time to achieve the unthinkable. How could a N.C. State basketball team who barely qualified for the NCAA tournament beat the #1 ranked University of Houston?

North Carolina State would not only go on to defeat one of the greatest college basketball teams ever in Phi Slamma Jamma, it would be one of the greatest finishes in the history of sports.

It all started with the dream of one man, Coach Jim Valvano who invited a group of young men to share that vision with him. Coach Valvano made a promise. He said that if we believed in him and each other, in time we would accomplish things beyond our imaginations.

I lived that dream, and I continue to live its lessons in all facets of my life. Whether it's on the basketball court or in the boardroom, I've learned that if one is willing to catch the vision, to sacrifice a part of ones talents to magnify those of others...anything is possible!
